Jacqui Findlay is, today (3 February 2026), announced as the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Operations for Scala, Worcester’s new arts centre which is scheduled to open later this year. Jacqui will take up her role from April 2026.
Currently working as Programme Director for the BA (Hons) Stage Management and as Production Manager at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University, Jacqui’s former freelance career spans over 14 years. Jacqui’s freelance career spans stage, production and tour management across projects from Shakespeare to contemporary dance, opera and panto. Many of Jacqui’s freelance projects toured both nationally and internationally. Prior working at Birmingham City University Jacqui was Tour Manager for Candoco Dance Company and she has worked in television, film and live outdoor events.
Jacqui Findlay said of her new appointment: “I’m really excited to be joining Scala as Deputy Chief Executive & Director of Operations. I’m looking forward to helping bring this incredible space back to life and making it a place that belongs to the whole city. Having the opportunity to be part of something so early on and shape what Scala is to become is a privilege. We hope to make it a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable to collaborate and let their creativity flow, enabling them to potentially see the world differently – it’s about connection and community.”

Currently under construction in Worcester’s city centre, Scala will be a place where people can come together to enjoy, imagine, and cultivate a more creative future for the city. Opening later this year, Scala will offer live performance, independent film, music, talks, digital experiences, dance, workshops, exhibitions, festivals and special events.
Expect to see more job opportunities advertised over the coming months which will be announced on Scala’s social media platforms and on the website. Scala are currently looking for two emerging producers to support the Festival of Play in Worcester on 22 and 23 May 2026. The Festival of Play forms part of Local Voices, Creative Choices, more details on the Festival of Play will be announced in due course.
